September

Sarah turned 3 months this month, and Lanie turned 2. Little girls grow up way too fast. Sarah is a sweet sweet baby. She is taking everything in with wide eyes. Lanie is, well, being two. She is cute as can be, but finding all kinds of trouble to get into as you will see in some of the pics.

Lanie on her birthday

Sarah loves to be up on your shoulder so she can see everything!

Lanie got a haircut. She does not like to keep barrettes or bands in her hair, so we cut her bangs.

We spent Labor Day at a beautiful cabin in the woods. So refreshing!

We had a nice visit (though much too short) with Cari's uncle Don from Des Moines

The little ones enjoyed playing with him!

This was actually in August. We had a visit from some special friends who moved to CA. It was very hot to have a tea party outside, but the girls didn't seem to mind!

8 weeks old

Sarah turned 8 weeks old today. She's been smiling a bit since about 5 1/2 weeks, but it's hard to catch with a camera yet. She is really getting chubby! In the last month she's received her "Grandma Ann quilt," had her first camping trip, met friends from Wisconsin, and celebrated her Grandpa Kilcup's 70th birthday.

Twenty of our 110 toes. Sarah's chubby feet, and Bethany's pedicured ones.
I remember holding Sarah's little feet after she was born thinking, it won't be long before these skinny baby feet will be chubby. They grow soooo fast!

Sarah, like her Daddy, enjoys a nap in a hammock in the woods.
We camped in the Grand Canyon campground.

Myck brought Eilley along. The crows, which were as big as she was, kept their eyes on her.

Lanie doing some housekeeping in the tent trailer.

Ben, Hudson and Elli, all earned a Junior Ranger badge by filling out a workbook about the CCC, the Civilian Conservation Corps. Do you know what the CCC did? They do!

Biking was the main activity while we were at the Grand Canyon. Wait til you see how we got all the bikes there! (You'll see below.)

This was Sarah's main activity while we were there.

We had some visitors at our campsite. Five bull elk wandered in, looking for good eats.
This one had quite a rack!

This guy thought the leaves looked appealing.

Sarah hanging out with Bethany

I just had to put Sarah in this cute outfit. I didn't think it would still fit her by the time it's cool enough in Phoenix to wear it!

Hudson, Taylor and Lanie have some hammock fun.

Bicycle chaos! Everyone went on this bike trip except Sarah and Cari.
Lanie was in the bike trailer.

Here's how all the bikes traveled to the Grand Canyon. Nine bikes in all, including a tandem!

Oh yes, Bethany and Grant had birthday parties the same weekend. Grant, boys and dads celebrated with a birthday campout (they didn't take a camera though). Bethany had an all girls sleepover, with makeovers, pedicures and Ann of Green Gables.

Now contemplating....

Great Grandma Ann delivered this gorgeous baby quilt she made for Sarah. All the animals are so colorful and fun!
